The Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC)has announced the release of the 2024 results for select courses in a statement released on 5th February 2026.
In the statement issued by KNEC, the Heads of Institutions that represent students who undertook the examination are collecting the certificates, and students are to collect from their colleges.
“We wish to inform all Heads of Institution that presented candidates for the 2024 Business and Technical examination that the certificates are ready for collection at News Mitihani House, Nairobi,” the report stated.
The certificates that are ready for collection are for the March, July, and November 2024 Business and Technical examinations.
According to the post made by KNEC, any queries regarding the certificates are to be made through the Head of Institution or through the Query Management Information System (QMIS) portal.
“All queries must reach KNEC within 60 days after the release of the certificates,” the statement by KNEC stated.
Any enquiry regarding the Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) certificate made after the 30th June 2026 will attract a fee of Ksh. 5,000.
QMIS Portal
QMIS is an electronic platform for submitting and processing queries about examination results.
In making queries to the KNEC, one is supposed to register if new or log in with their credentials if registered.
The candidate is to upload their relevant documents, make a prompt payment through Mpesa, and the processing begins, and a notification to collect their documents is issued by KNEC.
During the collection, the candidate is required to provide the original copies of the documents they had uploaded.

KNEC Business and Technical Examinations
Business and Technical Examinations in the KNEC are categorized as post-school examinations offered to candidates who have completed primary and/or secondary education.
These examinations are categorized into single groups for students who sit for one exam and obtain a certificate. After completion, the certificates are combined into three levels.
Levels of the single and group are elementary, intermediate, and advanced. Candidates with the advanced certificate can proceed to a higher Diploma or Degree level.
Additionally, there is an artisan category that emphasizes the acquisition of practical skills. The levels are certificate, diploma, and higher diploma courses.

Levels of TVET courses offered by KNEC
KNEC offers several levels of TVET examinations, including artisan, craft, diploma, and higher diploma.
Candidates sitting for these examinations can use a modular or a non-modular curriculum. The craft certificate examination has two modules, module one and module two.
The diploma level has three modules, and the higher diploma level has two modules. Candidates are expected to take all the examination papers of a module in one sitting, except for the referred candidates.
