The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) has extended working hours at selected service points to midnight to support taxpayers in filing their annual income tax returns ahead of the June 30 deadline.
In a public notice issued on June 23, the authority announced revised operating hours for selected Tax Service Offices, Huduma Centers and its Contact Center between June 23 and June 30.
Under the revised schedule, selected service points will operate longer hours on weekdays, with some remaining open until midnight on June 30 to support taxpayers filing their returns.
Members of the public have been advised to take advantage of the extended working schedule to meet the tax return deadline.
“Remember to file your tax return before 30th June 2026,” the KRA public notice directed.
Updated Working Schedule
KRA service providers at the service centers will be available from 7.00 a.m. to 7.00 p.m. between June 23 and June 26.
Additionally, the service centers will remain open from 7.00 a.m. to midnight on June 29 and June 30 to allow taxpayers to submit their annual returns ahead of the deadline.
Selected Huduma Centers in the Nairobi, Southern, South Rift, North Rift, Northern, Central, and Western regions will also provide extended services from 7.00 a.m. to 7.00 p.m. on weekdays.
Further, following changes in the working hours, select Huduma Centers nationwide will continue to operate between 8.00 a.m. and 5.00 p.m. during the filing period.
In addition, KRA’s contact center will offer extended support to taxpayers seeking guidance on filing returns through the iTax platform, operating from 7.00 a.m. to 10.00 p.m. from June 23 to June 26.
Operations in the contact centers will be extended until midnight on June 29 and June 30, while the offices remain open over the weekend, from 9.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday.

Earlier Work Hours Adjustment
On June 17, the Authority stated the extension of working hours on weekdays between June 17 and 26.
According to the authority, the Contact centers, KRA service centers, and Huduma centers were extending the scheduled working hours to support tax return filing.
“The Contact Center, selected KRA Service Centers, and Huduma Centers will extend working hours to support taxpayers ahead of the 30th of June 2026 deadline,” KRA noted.
Service Centers were set to operate from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on weekdays between 17th and 26th June, and from 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 a.m. on June 30.

KRA Tax Return
Taxpayers with no income are required to file a nil return via the iTax portal at https://itax.kra.go.ke.
To file the return, the taxpayer should log in using their KRA PIN and password, click on returns, and select file nil return.
During filing, the taxpayer should select income tax and choose the resident individual option before confirming the details and submitting the request.
Upon successful tax return, the taxpayer can download the tax acknowledgment receipt.
For employed taxpayers, they must obtain the P9 form from the employer, upload the required income details from the form, and submit the tax return.
