Candidates seeking admission to the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) degree programme, or its equivalent, must meet specific requirements to be admitted for undergraduate studies.
For applicants holding the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE), the minimum university admission requirement is a C+ (plus) overall grade. In addition, candidates must have an average grade of B plain in the following cluster subjects: Biology, Chemistry, Physics or Mathematics, and English or Kiswahili.
Candidates with the Kenya Advanced Certificate of Education (KACE) must have attained a minimum of two principal passes in Biology and Chemistry, along with a subsidiary pass in either Mathematics or Physics.
Those with an International Baccalaureate (IB) must have achieved at least a grade 5 or above in their examinations.
Requirements for Applicants
Applicants holding a diploma in Medical Sciences must have obtained either a minimum “O” Level Division II pass or a KCSE mean grade of C+ (plus), and a credit (C+) pass in the required cluster subjects of Biology, Chemistry, Physics or Mathematics, and English or Kiswahili.
In addition, they must have completed a three-year diploma programme with at least a credit pass from a medical training institution recognized by the relevant regulatory board.
Candidates who hold a degree in Biological Sciences or equivalent qualifications from a recognized university may also qualify, subject to passing the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) or another approved qualifying examination.
All applicants must demonstrate proficiency in the English language.
