Earlier, the Senator explained that her decision to diversify the genres was strongly influenced by the desire to connect with a broader audience of young people, as she engages with them regularly in her capacity.
“Blinding Allure is more than just a mixtape. It’s a melodic journey that serves as an homage to Kenya’s diverse youth whom I have the pleasure of interacting with daily through my work as a Senator.
When I lost control and everything around me started to disappear, my voice remained. Glaucoma has made me understand my ability to, and the importance of, standing alone.”
Crystal also noted that her visual impairment had an influence in the album-making process.
“Glaucoma has made me understand my ability to, and the importance of, standing alone. This mixtape is about recognizing the power of self-worth, the limitless potential of us all once we decide to stop hiding who we are and create our own path in the world. I think I was given this mountain to show others that it can be moved”, she added

“I was left distraught because I was only 20 years at the time, in my second year of university. Lots of things flashed before my eyes, I thought about everything that my parents had sacrificed for me to get a good education only for me to drop out because I was going blind.
I also thought about my course, which was very visual, and I wondered how all this was going to work if I couldn’t even see. I was so stressed out, to say the least,” she said in a previous interview.
Despite being featured on Extravaganza beside Bensoul, Nviiri the Storyteller and Kaskazini, Crystal maintains she is not famous, never mind the over 11million views the song has.
“Even though strangers may walk up to me and give me their feedback on my music and am not able to see them, that kind of interaction and support makes me happy, and I promise to keep making great music and being an inspiration,” she said.
