Willis Raburu’s former wife, Marya Prude, has claimed that a social media post she shared shortly after content creator Ivy Namu announced a breakup with the media personality led to her losing a potential brand partnership.
Prude made the revelation in an Instagram video, saying she had been informed that a mental health-focused non-governmental organization (NGO) had considered her for an ambassadorial influencer role but later dropped her following criticism surrounding a post she shared online.
According to Marya Prude, a close friend sent her a screenshot showing internal discussions within the organization. She said the organization viewed her post as bullying and decided not to proceed with the partnership.
“So, one of my very close friends sent me screenshot of this mental health NGO saying that they were considering me for a position as an ambassador for an influencer thing they’re doing for mental health and they’re not considering because what I posted yesterday was me being a bully,” said Marya on Instagram.
Marya Prude Says Post Was Meant as Self-Expression
The controversy stemmed from a video Marya Prude shared while having her hair done at a salon. The clip was captioned: “Kindly respect my privacy as I switch up my hair.”

The post came after Ivy Namu publicly announced that she and media personality Willis Raburu had ended their relationship.
Social media users interpreted Prude’s caption as a subtle reaction to the breakup, prompting discussions online.
Prude insisted that her remarks were not directed at any individual and were never intended to offend anyone. She explained that the post was simply an expression of her thoughts and personality, which she believes many online people misunderstood.
She noted that she has previously held back from publicly expressing herself because she feared being viewed as someone who complains too much.
Prude added that she had previously avoided openly expressing herself online because she did not want to be perceived as someone who constantly complained or reacted to criticism.
Despite the backlash, Marya said she does not regret sharing the post and believes people are free to engage with her content or ignore it.
“I will never feel bad for having a good time on social media because this is my platform. You have a choice to come over here or not,” she said.
