The Ministry of Health (MoH) through the Pharmacy and Poisons Board (PPB) has issued a notice for the May 2024 professional exams.

In a statement, PPB said the exams will be administered online, in the respective examination centers.

“The PPB will conduct the above pre-registration exams (Stage I & II) and pre-enrolment exams (Level I & II) from 27th to 31st May 2024,” the statement read in part.

Additionally, there will be mock exams to test and familiarize with the PPB online examinations portal.

The mock exams will be done at home and the dates will be communicated in due course.

“Candidates with a disability or health issue that may affect their ability to sit for online exams must immediately notify the Board in writing, together with supporting medical evidence,” PPB said.

Requirements for PPB Exams 2024

Candidate are required to make an application in the PPB online services portal before the deadline set for May 10, 2024.

They should then proceed and select their preferred examination center after the application.

“The exam canters are subject to change and candidates must regularly check the portal prior to the exam for any changes,” PPB said.

Besides, the candidates must obtain a suitable computer device with internet access, fully charged, and which can store power to run for at least 3 hours.

Candidates can reach out to the Board via the e-mail address [email protected] for any feedback or queries.

PPB Professional Examinations Categories

PPB is mandated to regulate pharmacy practice and oversee the manufacture and trade of drugs and poisons in Kenya.

The Board administers several professional exams, each tailored to different categories of individuals seeking careers in pharmacy.

The four different professionals conducted by PPB are described as follows.

1.Stage I Exams: These exams are designed for individuals with degrees or diplomas from international universities. Successful candidates proceed to an internship program, which spans one year and is supervised by PPB.

2. Stage II Exams: These exams are intended for individuals with a degree from the University of Nairobi.

To be eligible, candidates must have completed a one-year supervised internship as required in Stage I exams. Passing Stage II exams allows PPB to register them as pharmacists.

3.Level I Exams: PPB administers this exam to individuals who have graduated with a diploma from international colleges approved by the Pharmacy and Poisons Board or Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC).

Successful candidates progress to a practical attachment for seven months, supervised by the board.

4.Level II Exams: These exams are for individuals who have completed their seven-month attachment and are either students of KMTC or graduates of the institution.

Passing Level II exams results in registering their names as Pharmaceutical Technologists.

How to Create Account

After you have successfully been indexed, you should be able to access the exam application.

For the others not in an institution, PPB will create your profile.
