Mumias East Member of Parliament Peter Salasya has launched an urgent effort to retain his longtime Social Media Manager, Harriet Njenga, following her sudden resignation from Salasya TV.
MP Salasya has publicly moved to reassure Njenga of her value, offering a revised contract with improved terms and issuing a public apology over an incident that had unsettled her.
In a social media post dated July 12, MP Salasya noted that the resignation from Harriet Njenga came as a surprise, citing that Harriet was an integral part of his media team.
In addition, the MP praised the resilience of the social media manager in the political environment, which, according to Salasya, is demanding.
“I was surprised to see your post on social media about your resignation, Harriet Njenga. Over the past 3 years, you have been an integral part of my media team, and your contribution has been exceptional, particularly within the demanding political environment in which we operate,” Peter Salasya stated.
Salasya’s effort to reintegrate Harriet into his team follows Njenga’s July 11 resignation letter, announcing her immediate departure from Salasya TV and her role as Social Media Manager.
In her resignation letter, Harriet expressed gratitude for the opportunities she has had since joining in December 2024.
Despite being grateful for the opportunities and growth achieved while working for the MP, Harriet explained that the pursuit of new personal and professional growth drove her decision.

MP Salasya on Resignation of Harriet Njenga
According to Salasya, the social media manager has contributed to the growth and expansion of YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, X, and other digital media platforms linked to the MP.
In addition, the MP emphasized that through the collaboration among Harriet, Oliver Ouma Barasa, Peter Sydney, Kevin Serveen, and the media team, his public visibility had been enhanced.
Salasya also addressed a sensitive incident during a live radio interview in which his associate, Tony Mwirigi, raised a question about an alleged personal relationship between him and Njenga.
The MP further admitted the remarks were inappropriate and apologized, noting that the issue should never have been aired when more pressing public matters were at stake.
Additionally, Harriet had affirmed that she had no romantic connection with her employer during her employment at Salasya TV.
On her social media platform, Harriet explained that the MP is not her type. However, she called out her former employer for publicly denying that the social media manager was working during a public interview at Milele FM.
According to Harriet, denial by her employer meant that, in the event of an accident in the the future, the employer would not be responsible for the incident.

In light of this, I would like to invite you to report to the office on Tuesday at 8:00 a.m. My Personal Assistant, Elvis, has prepared a revised employment contract reflecting a salary increment together with improved allowances in recognition of your contribution and dedication,” MP Peter Salasya directed.
