The Nation Media Group (NMG) has announced the appointment of two new directors to its Board, effective July 1, 2024.
According to an announcement dated July 2, 2024, Nancy Booker has been appointed as a Non-Executive Director.
She is currently the Dean and Associate Professor at the Graduate School of Media and Communications at The Aga Khan University (AKU).
Additionally, Paul Kasimu has been appointed as an Independent Non-Executive Director.
Kasimu is a renowned human resource thought leader with a distinguished career in organizational design, strategic leadership, and change management.
“The Board of Directors warmly welcomes Nancy Booker and Paul Kasimu to the Nation Media Group. Their impressive backgrounds and expertise will greatly contribute to the strategic direction and growth of the company,” said Angela Namwakira, Company Secretary, in the announcement.
About Nancy Booker
Booker has an extensive background in multimedia journalism and academic leadership, having served as Associate Dean and Assistant Professor at AKU and as Head of the Journalism and Communication program at Multimedia University in Kenya.
She also contributed to the establishment of the Department of Media and Communication at ABC University in Liberia.

Booker holds a PhD, Masters, and bachelor’s degree in media studies and communications from Daystar University, Kenya.
She is the Vice President of the African Journalism Educators Network (AJEN), a board member of the East Africa Communication Association, and a former Commissioner at the Media Complaints Commission.
About Paul Kasimu
Kasimu is currently the Transformation and Change Adviser at Safaricom Group Plc.
He has held senior executive roles, including Director of Resources and Chief HR Officer at Safaricom Plc., Group HR Director at East African Breweries, HR Business Partner at Barclays Africa, and Group HR Director at Kenya Airways.
Kasimu holds an MSc. in Management and Organizational Development from the United States International University (USIU) and a bachelor’s in economics from the University of Nairobi.

He is also a Fellow of the Institute of HR Management, Kenya, and is pursuing a PhD in Business and Management at Strathmore University.
