Safaricom’s Fuliza service, one of its short-term lending facilities offered in partnership with NCBA Bank, recorded an increase in customer uptake during the six months ended September 30, 2025, with the number of users rising from 7.5 million to 9.1 million.
The 9.1 million distinct users represent a 22.2% year-on-year (YoY) increase from 7.5 million customers recorded in the same period last year (HY25).
According to Safaricom’s half-year 26 financial results, released on Thursday, November 6, 2025, the value of Fuliza disbursements increased by 39.8% to KSh629.2 billion, up from KSh450 billion in the previous year.
Safaricom Announces Rise in Fuliza Customers
Repayments also increased by 41.9% to KSh644.1 billion, resulting in a repayment-to-disbursal rate of 102.4%, which signalled improved repayment discipline and customer confidence.
Fuliza solidified its position as a critical component of Safaricom’s financial ecosystem, continuing to be a key contributor to lending revenue. Revenue from the service grew by 34.9% YoY to KSh2.6 billion, while the average loan ticket size increased 7.8% to KSh254.6.

Safaricom noted that Fuliza continues to drive financial inclusion, offering millions of Kenyans instant access to credit for emergencies and daily cash flow needs.
The company said the product’s growth reflects the strong adoption of mobile-based financial solutions across the country.
“Fuliza, which is a flagship product, accounts for 59% of our credit revenue and grew 35% year-on-year, driven by affordable pricing and enhanced credit limits. This remains an area with great potential for growth as we continue working with our partners to meet customer needs,” said Safaricom Group Chief Finance Officer, Dilip Pal.
Mobile Service Provider Posts Ksh 42.8 billion Profit
Meanwhile, Safaricom PLC reported a net profit of KSh 42.8 billion for the half-year ended September 30, 2025.
The profit surge was mainly driven by strong performance in M-PESA and mobile data, alongside sustained customer growth and operational efficiency.

M-PESA remained Safaricom’s biggest earner, with revenue rising 14% to KSh88.06 billion, contributing nearly half of the company’s total service revenue. Transaction volumes increased by 26.5% to 21.87 billion, while transaction value reached KSh20.21 trillion, driven by the strong uptake of Lipa Na M-PESA and Pochi la Biashara.
The mobile data business also performed strongly, with revenue increasing 13.4% to KSh40.3 billion, driven by higher smartphone usage and the availability of affordable internet bundles. Average data consumption per user rose 20.6% to 4.85GB, powered by Safaricom’s expanding 4G and 5G networks.
Overall, Safaricom’s service revenue grew 9.3% to KSh193.9 billion, while Earnings Before Interest and Tax (EBIT) rose 13.1% to KSh89.5 billion.
