The Kenya Defense Forces (KDF) has shortlisted candidates for the positions of General Service Officer (GSO) Cadets (Regular and Graduate), Specialist Officers, and Tradesmen/Women.
In a notice dated Saturday, October 25, 2025, KDF invited the shortlisted candidates to attend interviews on specified dates and at designated venues.
“The shortlisted candidates are hereby invited for interviews and selection on the dates and locations indicated below,” read the notice in part.
KDF Releases List of Shortlisted Cadet Candidates
According to KDF, GSO Cadets (Regular) are required to report to the Kenya Military Academy, Lanet, Nakuru, on Monday, December 1, 2025, at 8:00 a.m.
GSO Cadets (Graduate) will report to the same venue on Monday, November 24, 2025, at 8:00 a.m.
Specialist Officers are to report on Monday, December 8, 2025, at 8:00 a.m.

Meanwhile, Tradesmen and Tradeswomen will report to the Ulinzi Sports Complex, Lang’ata, Nairobi, on Monday, November 3, 2025, at 8:00 a.m.
KDF further directed all candidates to bring their original National Identification Card (ID), academic and professional certificates, curriculum vitae, and any other relevant testimonials, together with four copies of each document.
The military also announced that food and accommodation will be provided during the interview period. Unsuccessful candidates will be reimbursed travel expenses in line with KDF regulations. In addition, all participants were advised to carry warm clothing.

KDF also warned that the recruitment process is free and open to all eligible candidates, stressing that bribery or corruption aimed at influencing the process is a criminal offence.
Anyone found engaging in recruitment-related malpractice will be arrested and prosecuted, according to KDF.
The public has been urged to report any cases of malpractice to the nearest police station, military camp, or through the hotline numbers 0726 419 706 or 0726 419 709.

To check the list of shortlisted candidates, applicants should visit the Ministry of Defence website at https://www.mod.go.ke, navigate to the Latest News section. Click on “Shortlisted Candidates for General Service Officer Cadets, Specialist Officers, and Tradesmen/Women into the Kenya Defence Forces” to download the PDF containing the names of all shortlisted candidates.
The announcement follows a nationwide recruitment drive launched on September 15, 2025, in which the military invited qualified Kenyan citizens to apply for positions across various departments, including GSO Cadets, Specialist Officers, General Duty Recruits, Tradesmen/Women, and Defence Forces Constables.
