Former Nairobi governor, Mike Mbuvi Sonko has expressed his concerns over a man who fought a lion for his family’s defense.
Sharing on his social accounts, Sonko has revealed that he is looking for the man to offer him a job.
“I’m looking for this man who sustained serious injuries after fighting a lion for 90 minutes to protect his family. I want to take him to Israel for training then later offer him a job, “shared Sonko.
According to images that went viral online, surrounded by his local residents, the man was seriously injured with his body covered by blood stains.
Additionally, his eyes, hands and chest were also covered with hospital bandages suggesting that the lion might have been scratching him.
In another photo, the lion is seen lying on the ground while in another one it is being carried on a wheelbarrow.
Similar Lion Attack Incidence
On Wednesday, February 7, a couple from Isiolo was attacked by a lion while they were walking in the forest.

While narrating the attack, the man recounted how he and his wife were strolling through the forest when a lion suddenly emerged from behind catching them by surprise.

Startled, his wife dashed ahead, leaving him vulnerable to the wild beast.
“The lion bit me on my hands, legs, ribs and my back. My wife was walking behind me, so the lion came to attack her, but she ran in front of me, leaving me exposed to the lion,” he narrated.
“It pounced on me and started scratching me while I was on the ground. I called on my wife to help me,”
In a bid to assist her husband, the woman handed him a machete that they had brought along but had dropped during the altercation.
As her husband managed to grasp the machete and fend off the lion, the lion became enraged and redirected its aggression towards her and trapping her on the ground.
“My wife passed me the panga and I used it to attack the lion. The lion immediately pounced on my wife and began biting her legs and it would not leave. After a while we fought it off and it ran into the forest,” the man continued.

Multimedia Students Protest Over Hyena Attack
In another incident, a 21-year-old Multimedia student was attacked by a hyena around 8 pm on Maasai Lodge Road, resulting in severe injuries.
He was promptly rescued and rushed to hospital for treatment.
Following the incident, Multimedia students staged protests on February 6, 2024.
