The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has released CCTV footage showing the last moments of City Lawyer Kyalo Mbobu before he was gunned down by unknown assailants.
The footage, now in the custody of DCI officers, is believed to trace his final movements from his office to Sagret Hotel along Milimani Road.
According to detectives, Kyalo was seen attending a meeting at Sagret Hotel between 11 a.m. and 1:15 p.m. on Tuesday, September 9, 2025. He later had lunch with individuals who have since been listed as persons of interest in the ongoing probe.
At 1:45 p.m., Kyalo reportedly left Sagret Hotel and returned to his office.
Another CCTV clip tracked the lawyer’s vehicle leaving his office at around 5 p.m. and heading towards his Karen residence.
At 5:09 p.m., he left his townhouse office. Surveillance footage and phone data tracked his route through Wabera Street, City Hall Way, Parliament Road, Uhuru Highway, Nyayo Roundabout, and onto Lang’ata Road before diverting to Magadi Road.

The family of the slain lawyer is now demanding justice. His brother, fellow lawyer James Maluki, urged the government to conduct a thorough probe into the killing.
“It is a very saddening matter. A lawyer who is simply doing his work and someone who is trustworthy.
We appeal to the government to take this matter seriously and investigate it thoroughly, as we need freedom of movement. We are required, as professionals, to carry out our duties. We need to do our work without fear and intimidation,” Maluki said.
