Digital Activist Shiko Kihika broke her silence on Tuesday night November 5 after netizens cyber-bullied her sister Jane Kihika.
In a statement, Shiko condemned the social media comments of users who were making fun of her sister’s weight.
“I’ve been silently watching how some of you have bullied my small sister, for nothing more than existing in her body.
I’ve seen the tweets, the cruel comments, and the constant judgment of her weight.

It’s heartbreaking to watch people tear someone down, especially when they don’t know the full story. Jane was born this way. She’s always been this size.
All of the so-called “advice” you’re offering her about what she should be doing, she’s already tried it. Your words don’t help. They harm,” Shiko condemned.
Further, Shiko said that such negative comments take a serious toll on a person’s mental health.
“What’s worse is that many of you seem to forget the impact your words have. The toll that comes with constant body shaming is real and devastating. Jane has struggled with her confidence for a long time, but she’s learned to love and appreciate herself. Her journey to self-acceptance has not been easy, and it certainly hasn’t been helped by those who hide behind screens to spread hatred for clout.”

Additionally, the digital activist urged social media users to recognize that those who criticize others’ bodies are often struggling with their own insecurities.
“It’s important to remember that the need to tear someone down often comes from a place of personal pain,” she explained.
“So, before you post something hurtful, take a moment to reflect on why you feel the need to judge or hurt others. We’re all facing our own battles,” Kihika highlighted.
Kihika’s statement comes after some social media users made fun of Jane’s weight when she posted photos of herself on X platform.
