The National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) has named Northern Bypass, Kenya’s most dangerous road.
According to the Authority, the Northern Bypass accounted for most accidents that occurred in 2022.
It was followed by Kangundo Road, Mombasa Road, Outering Road and Thika Superhighway.
NTSA says that of the 273 accident black spots countrywide, more than 70 or about a quarter are in Nairobi.
Nairobi black spots include the Haile Selassie-Railway roundabout and Riverside Drive junction.
Others are the Landhies-Kamukunji roundabout, the JKIA Airport turnoff, St Teresa junction in Eastleigh, the Burma footbridge on Jogoo Road and Blue Post Bridge on Thika Super Highway.

Nairobi City County recorded the most accidents in 2022.
In 2022, Nairobi roads claimed 499 lives ,a decrease compared to 521 in 2021.
Kiambu county recorded 484 deaths up from 460 in 2021.
Nakuru had 389, Machakos-264, Murang’a-190, Meru-161, Usain Gishu-148 while Kakamega recorded 131 deaths.
Northern counties of Wajir and Mandera recorded one fatal injury each followed by Isiolo (5), Marsabit (10) and Lamu (14).
