The National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) has suspended 121 public service vehicle (PSV) SACCOs.
In a statement issued on Friday, September 27, the Authority cautioned the public against using vehicles belonging to the listed Saccos.
“This is to notify the public that the Authority has suspended 121 PSVs- Public Transport Operators (PTOs) for failing to comply with the provisions of Section 5(1) of the National Transport and Safety Authority (Operation of PSV Regulations) 2014,” NTSA said.
“Members of the Public are hereby advised not to board vehicles belonging to the suspended saccos/companies,” the statement added.
The list of suspended public service operators and their respective routes is available on NTSA website.
This move comes as part of NTSA’s ongoing efforts to ensure compliance and safety within the transport sector.
NTSA also issued a directive to the National Police Service (NPS) urging traffic officers to take action against the Saccos if found operating following their license suspension.
The Traffic Department has been advised to impound any vehicles belonging to the 121 Saccos/Companies found operating contrary to the suspension.
Among the affected Saccos is 2K-NN Savings and Credit Co-Operative Society/Ngorika Line Travellers Company Limited (Kiambogo, Kiptangwanyi, Nakuru, Nairobi and 2MK Modern Co. Limited Machakos Country Bus, Machakoswote, Makindu).
Additionally, 2ML Sacco Society Limited (Mombasa, Lamu,Kilifi, Malindi) and 2TS Savings and Credit Cooperative Society Limited (Mombasa, Miritini Sgr Terminus,Voi, Mtito Andei, Nairobi) are among those suspended.
Others include 3KEN Savings and Credit Co-Operative Society Limited (Kericho, Kisumu, Eldoret), 3KRA (Usenge, Bondo, Luanda Kotieno, Siaya, Kisumu, Busia and Back) and 3M Port Savings and Credit Co-Operative Society (Miritini, Sabasaba, Mwembe Tayari).

8B Savings and Credit Co-Operative Society Ltd -Fig Tree, Thika Rd, Kariokor, Gikomba, Juja Rd, Eastleigh, Kiambiu,Jericho, Jogoo Rd, Buruburu, Outering Rd, Donholm (Caltex), Cabanas, Likoni Rd, Lungalunga Rd, Kariobangi South, and Kangundo Rd has also suspended.
Acacia Shuttle Savings and Credit Co-Operative Society Limited-Kisumu, Ndori, Uyoma.
