Bungoma County has a total of 646,598 registered voters according to the latest figures released by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).
The county is divided into nine constituencies, each represented by a Member of Parliament (MP).
Kanduyi constituency leads with the highest number of registered voters at 118,333, followed by Tongaren with 84,952 and Bumula with 82,047 voters.
Mt. Elgon has 76,159 registered voters, Kabuchai 67,221, Kimilili 61,587, Webuye West 58,632, Webuye East 48,950, and Sirisia has the lowest with 48,717 voters.
The current political representation in Bungoma reflects a mix of parties. Fred Kapondi Chesebe of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) represents Mt. Elgon, while John Waluke Koyi from Jubilee serves Sirisia.

Ford Kenya holds several seats, with Joseph Simiyu “Majimbo” Wekesa in Kabuchai, John Okwisia Makali in Kanduyi, Martin Pepela Wanyonyi in Webuye East, and John Chikati Murumba in Tongaren.
Nelson Jack Wamboka of the Democratic Action Party–Kenya (DAP-K) represents Bumula. UDA also holds Webuye West and Kimilili through Daniel Wanyama Sitati and Didmus Wekesa Barasa Mutua, respectively.

Bungoma is rich in traditions, particularly those of the Bukusu sub-tribe of the Luhya community, which makes up the majority of the population.
