A video making rounds on social media of a man brutally beating up a woman wearing pink has stirred up emotions and reactions among Kenyans.
In the video seen by The Kenya Times, the man is seen holding the woman by the collar of her dress and dragging her across the room to the bed, all while beating her up with the other free hand.
The woman screams and begs for help, covering her head and trying to break free from the grip but her efforts are futile.
The man then hits the woman’s spine before dragging her again across the room, all her screams falling on deaf ears. At some point, she pulls the dress forcing it to ride up the woman’s body, exposing her bare skin.
Angered by the actions, many users on X called on the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) and the Kenya National Police Service (NPS) to investigate the matter and take action against the man.

Fact Check: Origin of the Viral Video
The Kenya Times has however determined that the incident happened in Rwanda.
Although the viral video was posted on X by a Kenyan user, the video was not originally recorded or shared online by a Kenyan.
A reverse search and translation of the video determined that it had been posted about two weeks earlier and had been a heated discussion in Rwanda.
Despite the fact that incident sparked public outcry in Rwanda, it is not clear whether the authorities took action over the matter.
We also traced the video to a YouTube upload of a man wearing a mask talking about the incident. He was speaking in Rwandese.
Nonetheless, The Kenya Times was able to translate the captions and title of the video to “Deadly Video Leaked of Guy Beating Girl Almost to Kill Her” from the original statement, “Irikubica Bigacika Hirya No Hino Umusore Urigukubita Umukobwa Hafi Kumwica”,
