A Form Four parent is seeking justice for her son after school prefects allegedly assaulted him on the night of June 5, 2024, at Kaaga Boys High School.
Speaking to Citizen TV, the mother of the 17-year-old student from Kaaga Boys High School in Meru County revealed that her son sustained serious injuries during the incident.
The mother claims the prefects attacked her son after accusing him of stealing Ksh 6,000 from a Form One student.
According to her son, he was allegedly assaulted by the School Captain, Dining Hall Prefect, Class Prefect, and Dorm Captain on the night of June 5.

“He jumped over the fence. It was midnight, remember, and he was barefooted and without clothes because they had taken off his uniforms.”
“He was just wearing a vest and had to walk alone all the way from Kaaga Boys to Meru Town at night after sustaining injuries from that beating,” the mother narrated.
Mother claims son was told to lie about the incident
The mother further explained that his son was fortunate to be alive because a crowd had started to gather around Meru town after noticing his injuries. A woman from a nearby shop quickly rushed him to safety.
“I received another phone call from the owner of Meru Unform Shop who told me she had rescued my son from the crowd that was building up opposite her shop. I requested her to take him to Meru Police Station to report the matter,” the mother recounted.
Based on medical reports, the student sustained very serious injuries to the chest, limbs, an eye, and other parts of the body from the alleged assault.
After the student was treated at the hospital, the mother claims the School Principal reached out to her son and told him to give false information about the incident.

“After the hospital, the Principal tried to convince my son to lie, telling him to say the eye injury was caused by a needle prick after jumping over the fence if investigators asked,” the mother alleged.
The parent of the Kaaga Boys High School student expressed that her only hope is that justice will be served and the students responsible for her son’s ordeal will be held accountable.
