The Parliamentary Service Commission – (PSC) has announced job opportunities for skilled artisans in carpentry, electrical, and plumbing.
In a vacancy notice issued on May 28, the Commission is seeking to fill positions in Carpentry, Electrical, and Plumbing.
According to the statement, successful candidates will begin at the entry and training grade for their respective cadres, working under the supervision of senior officers.
Responsibilities will include the maintenance, repair and construction of buildings, plants and related infrastructure within the parliamentary precincts.
Requirements and How to Apply
Applicants must have at least a Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) mean grade of D (plain) or a Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) artisan certificate or its recognized equivalent.

A trade test certificate in the relevant field from the Directorate of Industrial Training (NITA) or its equivalent is also required.
All applications must be submitted by June 14, 2025.
Additionally, interested individuals are required to include a cover letter, academic certificates, testimonials, and the relevant trade test certificate.
Submissions should be addressed to the Clerk of the Senate/Secretary, Parliamentary Service Commission, P.O. Box 41842 – 00100, Nairobi, or delivered by hand to the Head of the Commission Secretariat, 1st Floor, County Hall, Parliament Buildings.
Parliament Repairs After Gen Z Protest
In 2024 during the Finance bill 2024 protests property worth Ksh94 million were destroyed after Parliament was invaded, according to National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula.
The PSC also revealed this during the presentation of the 2024/2025 supplementary budget by the commission.

“They were substantive damage with the physical damage so far at Sh100 million, we are yet to get the estimates from the system which was mainly the security side is estimated to be quite high,” PSC Director General Clement Nyandiere said.
The youth, demonstrating against the Finance Bill 2024, managed to breach security and gain entry into the bicameral house, leading to chaotic and unprecedented scenes.
The Commission stated the cost of damages; destruction of building and property will be catered for by insurance while the institution will bear the cost of vandalism.
“We had insurance for buildings and fire which will be taken care of. The insurer has given us information on things which will not be taken care of which include systems which may be significant,” Nyandiere stated.
