The Nairobi City Water and Sewerage Company Limited has disconnected unauthorized water connections serving Kibra and parts of Lang’ata.
In a press release on Friday, August 11, the Company noted that water supply to the larger Lang’ata area has been facing challenges.
According to the Company, the disruption was due to illegal connections to the main water pipeline running along Kabete -Lang’ata route.
“We are currently reinforcing it to prevent any more illegal connections.
During this process, we have had to disconnect unauthorized connections serving the Kibera residents. We endeavor to complete all works by 18 August 2023,” read part of the statement.
As a result, the firm directed water to Kibra in all directions to ensure availability of adequate water supply to this area.
“We have also deployed four tankers to give free water for the next 7 days until Friday 18 August 2023 when we expect the normal water supply will have stabilized,” read the statement.
