Pastor Dorcas Offers Ex-KTN Journalist a Job in Her Office After Saving Him

The Spouse of Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, Pastor Dorcas Rigathi has offered former KTN political reporter Johanna Chacha a job in her office.

Pastor Dorcas offered Chacha the job during the alcohol rehabilitation graduation ceremony in Nyandarua County.

Notably, the journalist is one of the men who successfully completed the rehabilitation program headed by the second lady.

“To the reporter (Johana Chacha) I will offer you a job in my office, so that you can help me to talk to others who are still in drug abuse. “Pastor Dorcas said.

Further, Pastor Dorcas noted that Chacha will also be tasked with giving motivational talks to other addicts in a bid to have them reform.

Johana Chacha worked for KTN and K24 before alcoholism cut short his high-flying journalism career which had been his childhood dream. 

As such, he lost his job in 2016 after failing to show up for work for three consecutive days due to alcoholism.

Other Men Rehabilitated by Pastor Dorcas Program

Further, Pastor Dorcas presided over the graduation of the second cohort of men who have been rehabilitated from alcoholism, drugs and substance abuse in her rehabilitation program.

The pompous graduation ceremony celebrated 132 men and took place in Olkalou Nyandarua County on Wednesday, November 15.

Speaking during the graduation ceremony, Pastor Dorcas who has been vocal on the rights of the boychild emphasized on the importance of rehabilitating young men who were abusing drugs back into the society.

“These are the economic drivers of this country, and we cannot afford to leave them in the gutters. “She said.

Additionally, Pastor Dorcas noted the men who voluntarily joined her rehabilitation program hailed from various parts of Nairobi County.

Additionally, Nyandarua Senator John Methu lauded the efforts by Pastor Dorcas terming them visionary and the biggest way in saving the future of the nation.

Pastor Dorcas’ Boy Child Agenda

Notably, Pastor Dorcas Rigathi launched the Dorcas Rigathi Foundation that boasts of boy child Wellness programs where she pushes for the boy child agenda.

As an ardent supporter of the boy child’s rights, the woman of cloth went ahead to launch rehabilitation centers in the country that would not only help men who were struggling with drug addiction, but also rehabilitate petty crime offenders back into society.

During the groundbreaking of the rehabilitation center in Rumuruti, Laikipia County on 12th of October, Pastor Dorcas noted that the center would take thousands of young people who needed rehabilitation.

“In this place we are going to do something that has not been done before and that is going to be done by the national government and the county government together with judiciary.

We want to help our children who are caught in schools or other places with petty crimes, maybe smoking bhang and all that and they are in prison,” she said then.
