A pastor in Eldoret has gone into hiding after scamming worshippers by convincing them to invest millions in his company.
Apostle Seko Silas of the Rofam Center Christian Church convinced his congregants to spend millions of shillings in a false Forex investment, known as De La Vie consult.
According to some of the victims, the apostle preached to them that the move was the best way to generate wealth and offer their families financial security.
Many of them took loans and sold property to invest in the business, which was meant to yield Ksh30,000 every month.

Victims Narrate How Pastor Duped Them
Moreover, the victims said that in the plan, the apostle opened several investment companies where the money invested would grow.
However, the Rofam Center Christian Church bishop failed to give them the hefty returns every month as promised.
“My relatives, immediate family members and wife have lost over three million. He said that if you invest Ksh100,000, he would give you Ksh30,000 for a period of 12 months,” one of the victims said.
On the other hand, another said that Seko Silas paid her at first but soon after, the company went bankrupt.
“I borrowed ksh100,000 from a Sacco. My sister convinced me that the deal was good, and I invested because I believed it would help me pay fees.
“I received payment from July to December. After that I never received money from the company,” the victim explained.

The Apostle Responds to Allegations
The Pastor sent emails and messages to the congregant, telling them that the church was going through challenges. However, he promised to wire their payments as soon as the matter was resolved.
Also, he said that the congregants were ungrateful adding that the company had been their saving grace and main source of income.
“These people De La Vie has been feeding them. It has been their major source of income. You can never bite a hand that feeds you or urinate on the plate that you are supposed to eat from,” he said.
Apostle Seko Silas has also boasted that his company will remain steadfast despite the negative reception from the worshippers.
“A real man has to work, and I have secured the entire organization they are going to invest in. A real man works,” he said.
The church members have reported the matter to the police.
