Police were called to quell protesting youth at PCEA Kiamwathi Church in Nyeri after they locked congregants out of the gate.
The church leadership was forced to involve the officers after the agitated youth interrupted the Sunday service program.
According to other worshippers the youth were protesting the dismissal of a reverend, who they insisted had to be reinstated or the service would no longer take place at the establishment.
Further, the congregants stated that the youth gathered outside the church compound early in the morning after the reverend was abruptly removed.
They argued that they were not involved in the decision making yet they were directly affected by the move.
Later, the youth who were within the church compound, were called for a meeting to further discuss the situation.
