Jubilee Party Deputy Secretary General Pauline Njoroge is defending herself after photos from her recent globe-trotting adventures sparked online criticism.
Pauline drew attention after sharing images from iconic destinations including the tomb of Christopher Columbus at Seville Cathedral in Spain, the Sea Route to India exhibition, a Real Madrid vs. Real Sociedad football match, St. Peter’s Basilica and the Sistine Chapel in Rome, and even a Formula 1 race.
Some critics online questioned the source of funds behind her luxurious travels, while others commented on her lifestyle choices, particularly her single status and lack of children.
In a statement shared on 1 June, Njoroge did not hold back.
“But there are a few men (actually boys) in these streets who need to get a life,” she wrote.
“If yours is so enjoyable, why are you busy idling on my page? Don’t you have interesting things to do with your life?” she wrote in response to the questioning of “You can’t truly enjoy holidays or life without a husband and children.”

“Who tells you that all men are myopic as you are or oppressive to their women as you are?” she asked. “Why do you imagine children are meant to tie down women?”
Citing examples of successful women, Njoroge said, “God willing, we will be pregnant and having children, but still globe-trotting. We live in a world where a lady was appointed Foreign Minister with a one-year-old, and she was excellent in her work and with her family as well.”
She also dismissed the financial accusations, asserting her right to travel and post freely.
“Do you live in the 21st Century where women work and earn, with some even being top executives in blue chip companies or heading key government agencies?” she said. “Or does your mind belong to the 19th Century?”
In a parting shot to those complaining about her frequent online posts, she said, “If I am boring, what are you still doing here, complaining about what I post using data I have bought with my own money, and on a page which has my name? Well… here is another photo of me to boo you further.”
