Two families in Kitengela are desperately searching for three missing relatives believed to have been abducted by unknown individuals in two separate incidents.
The missing trio includes two brothers identified as Longton Jamil (42) and Aslam Longton (36), who were last seen by friends and relatives on Monday, August 19, 2024.
Witnesses reported that the two brothers were intercepted just a few meters from their home by a white Subaru, carrying four individuals who identified themselves as police officers.
The brothers were then forcibly taken from their vehicle and shoved in the back of the white Subaru, which quickly sped off.
“People who witnessed the event told us that our relatives were taken by individuals who identified themselves as police from Nairobi, who said that they had been sent to come and arrest my brother Aslam,” said Razak Longton, a relative of the two brothers.
“But as they were opening the vehicle door, witnesses said that my other brother Jamil questioned the officers about where they were taking Aalam, in the process he also ended up being detained,” he added.
Another Kitengela Resident Abducted
On the same day, 47-year-old Bob Njagi, a human rights activist and chairperson of the Free Kenya Movement, was abducted by unknown individuals in Mlolongo while traveling on a bus from Nairobi to Kitengela.

A relative of Njagi, while addressing the media, mentioned that they had received witness reports indicating that the bus was stopped by individuals who were specifically targeting him.
“Upon reaching Mlolongo, the bus was stopped by people in face masks who entered the vehicle and forcefully ejected him from the bus and placed him in a Subaru, and since that day we have not heard from him,” said the relative.
The families suspect that their loved ones were targeted due to their participation in the recent anti-government protests.
Additionally, the families expressed their growing concern over the well-being of their kin, especially since their search at various police stations has yielded no results.
“We have visited multiple stations across Machakos, Kajiado, and Nairobi, but they report that our relatives are not detained at these locations.”
They are calling upon the government to facilitate the safe return of their kin, since investigations by police have so far provided no leads on their whereabouts.
As the search continues, the families of the missing trio in Kitengela remain hopeful for the safe return of their missing Kin.
