A family in Migori County is seeking answers following the sudden and mysterious disappearance of their kin, Eunice Achieng, a female cop who vanished in 2020 from the Nyanchwa police station in Kisii.
According to reports, the 33-year-old police officer was last seen on July 29, 2020, after being granted a four-day leave by her superiors.
Her father, William Okal, while speaking to media shared that the last communication, the family had with Eunice was on July 30, when she mentioned she was heading back home to Migori following her leave from work.
“She claimed to be heading to Migori as she was coming from work on 30 July 2020,” said the distraught father.
According to the father, this message was sent shortly before her phone went silent, raising concerns about her whereabouts.
Family begin Search for Missing Kin
Since then, the family has searched tirelessly, visiting various police stations and hospitals, but to no avail.
Witnesses from the Nyanchwa police station revealed that Eunice was picked up on the fateful day of her disappearance by someone believed to be her ex-husband from Oyugis, Homabay County.
The witnesses revealed that from their interaction, it was evident that theirs was a forced relationship. Further reports suggest that Eunice had lent him Ksh200,000 and she was upset about it.
Following this discovery, the family promptly reported the matter to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) who began the search for the missing police officer later.
The DCI investigators made significant development in her case after her phone signal was tracked to Trans Mara, Kilgoris.
