Former Raila Odinga aide and lawyer Silas Jakakimba now says that it is time Azimio leader takes a step back from politics and give room for the country to roll on.
Speaking on a KTN show, Jakakimba said Raila is at a point where he can serve the African continent in other capacities, and that he should explore the capacities.
The Kenyan lawyer and advocate of the High Court previously served as a personal assistant and senior advisor to Raila Odinga.
Jakakimba further insisted that the Opposition chief already has his legacy cemented in the country’s history.

“I think we just need to appreciate Raila Odinga and let him be. I strongly feel he needs to step back and just let Kenya flow… This is what I genuinely feel and just go serve Africa in another capacity. He has a legacy,” Jakakimba said.

At the same time, the lawyer emphasized his support for President Wiliam Ruto, and his confidence in delivery of the current regime.
He however noted that the Head of State will deliver if he works harder to see that the current pressing issues like the economy are addressed.

“Baba has his legacy but currently I support William Ruto unconditionally and I have my reasons for that, and I believe he’s going to deliver.
He’s on the seat and I can tell you from where I sit, he deliberately means well and wants the best for this country,” he said,
Moreover, he pointed out that Presidents Ruto’s efforts to make the country work would definitely earn him a legacy just as baba has built his.
“Baba has a legacy and that is why I feel he needs to step back and chill, and I’ve told him this much in writing,” said Jakakimba

His support for Ruto was seen as a betrayal by many Raila supporters. However, according to him, that was not the case. Subsequently nine months ago Jakakimba quit as Governor Gladys Wanga’s legal advisor.
Jakakimba said he remains close to the Odinga family because he had worked in that space for the longest.
