The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Communication Director Philip Etale claimed that President William Ruto flew to Tanzania to apologize to President Samia Suluhu.
In a statement, Etale claimed that the president promised to go in person to apologize to the Tanzanian President for standing her up.
“I am sorry for not being able to meet you as planned. I will come to Dar-es-Salaam or Dodoma or whichever place you will prefer in Tanzania to personally apologize to you for the inconvenience caused,”Etale wrote.
The ODM Communication Director went ahead to add that the message was addressed to Tanzania President Samia Suluhu.
“These are the words to Mama Suluhu before she went back home,” Etale explained.
On Tuesday, July 25 President William Ruto announced his trip to Tanzania. While his spokesperson Hussein Mohamed always announces his itinerary, the head of state did it on Twitter at night.
“I’m off to Tanzania for a human capital meeting to harmonize the expansion of employment opportunities in our continent,” the president’s tweeter account read.
Samia Suluhu’s plan to meet Ruto
Earlier in the day, opposition chief Raila Odinga had claimed that the president of Kenya had snubbed Samia Suluhu who was in the country in a bid to end the political stalemate.

According to the opposition leader, President Samia Suluhu visited the country two weeks ago and spent two nights in the country.

However, she was kept waiting for two days until she eventually left the country.
“Two weeks ago, Mama Samia Suluhu came to Nairobi to try and mediate but she was kept waiting for 2 days and went back,” he said noted.
“Many eminent persons both local and international have tried to mediate between Azimio and Ruto’s side but they have been kept at bay by Kenya Kwanza,” he added.
Azimio called off demonstrations that were to take place on July 26, asking Kenyans to light a candle for those lost during the protests.
