The announcement was made in compliance with the Capital Markets Authority (CMA) regulations, the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE) Listing Rules, and the Companies Act, 2015.
Dr. Ruto brings more than 30 years of experience in educational policy and reform across Africa.
She previously served as Chief Administrative Secretary at Kenya’s Ministry of Education and as CEO of the People’s Action for Learning (PAL) Network.
Currently, she supports strategic grant making at Echidna Giving and sits on several national and international education boards, including the Kisii University Council and UNESCO’s International Institute for Educational Planning.

“We are pleased to welcome Dr. Ruto to the board,” said Prof. Githu Muigai, chairman of the Board of Directors.
Career of Sara Ruto
Her career began in the classroom as a language and literature teacher in Kenya. She later became a lecturer and researcher at Kenyatta University, where she focused on school reform and girls’ education.
Driven by a commitment to accountability and citizen participation, Sara founded Uwezo Kenya, a pioneering initiative that assessed children’s learning levels through citizen-led assessments.
Under her leadership, Uwezo expanded into Uganda and Tanzania, producing large-scale data that empowered communities to ask, “Are Our Children Learning?” at the district level.
She went on to establish the People’s Action for Learning (PAL) Network, which now spans 17 countries and promotes foundational learning through collaborative, locally led assessments.
