The government has enhanced security at State House in Kisumu a head of the planned anti-government protests set for Monday.
On Friday anti-riot police officers stopped demonstrators from moving past the Central Business District (CBD) on their way to the Milimani area where the State House is located.
Azimio leader Raila Odinga has announced a massive anti-government protest in Nairobi to protest over what he terms as the “illegitimacy” of the William Ruto government, high cost of living and the constitution of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).
Odinga says he will lead his supporters to storm State House Nairobi to reclaim what he describes as his “stolen victory”

The March 20th protest will coincide with similar ones in other African countries including South Africa, Senegal, Nigeria and Tunisia.
President William Ruto has said that he has no problem with the opposition holiday protestors but warned that he will not allow destruction of peace and property.
On Friday, Odinga announced that he expects at-least one million supporters to rally in Nairobi for the anti-government protest;
Odinga has defied pleas from religious leaders to call off the protests and embrace dialogue.
The opposition leader says the time for dialogue passed after President Ruto defied an ultimatum he gave him to address his demands.
On his side,President Ruto says he will not engage Odinga in any dialogue that is outside the law.
