President Uhuru Kenyatta has awarded state honours to 508 people who have served in his administration.
Some of the individuals who received the state commendation award include high-ranking State officials such as State House Spokesperson Kanze Dena, the Head of State’s personal assistant Jomo Gecaga, President Kenyatta’s former Chief of Staff Nzioka Waita, Supreme Court judge Isaac Lenaola and Registrar of Political Parties Ann Nderitu among others.

Moreover, through a gazette Notice dated July 8, 2022, the head of state noted that the 508 listed individuals were conferred the state honours and awards because of their distinguished and outstanding services rendered to the country in different capacities and responsibilities.
In addition, other prominent individuals on the list are political scientist Prof. Mutahi Ngunyi, Kenyatta International Conventional Centre (KICC) Managing Director Nana Gecaga, legal adviser Jasper Mbiuki, M-Pesa Africa Managing Director Sitoyo Lopokoiyit and Communications Specialist Ruth Mueni.
Furthermore, some of the individuals who received the state commendation award expressed their appreciation via different channels to the president.
Among them were philanthropist Ndungu Nyoro and communications specialist Ruth Mueni who both took to their social media platforms to show their gratitude.
Mr. Nyoro in his Facebook page thanked the head of state and at the same time dedicated the award to his ‘Watoto Wasome Ministry’ and the ‘Affecto family.’
“Thank you, Mr President. On behalf of Watoto Wasome ministry, Affecto family, my family and myself, please accept our gratitude. This is a rare but very special recognition,” wrote Nyoro.
