State House Chief of Staff and Head of Public Service Felix Koskei has called out people impersonating him to extort government officials.
In a statement on Friday, August 4, Koskei condemned the people he did not mention and told public officials to be on high alert.
“It has regrettably come to my attention that unscrupulous criminal elements are moving from one government office to the next intimidating state officials and extorting money in my name.
I call upon Cabinet Secretaries, Principal Secretaries, and CEOs of state corporations to be wary of these crooks and promptly report them to the appropriate authorities for swift action,” Koskei’s statement read.
Furthermore, the Chief of Staff went ahead to say that the era of trying to cheat Kenyans is long gone and these actions will not be taken lightly.

More About Felix Koskei
President William Ruto appointed Felix Koskei as Chief of Staff and Head of Public Service, replacing Dr. Joseph Kinyua – a career civil servant.
As the Chief of Staff, he works at State House behind the scenes to iron out issues, mediate disputes, and deal with matters before they get to the President.
Moreover, he is responsible for managing operations, coordinating policies, and supervising staff.
On behalf of the President, he engages with ministries, state departments, and agencies regarding the daily operations of the government.
Also, he oversees organizing and carrying out the office’s projects and programs.
Previously, Koskei was a Cabinet Secretary in charge of Agriculture between April 2013 and March 2015 when the then President Uhuru Kenyatta suspended him due to corruption allegations.
However, the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) cleared him for lack of enough evidence.
Koskei’s deputy at the powerful State House job is former Turkana Governor Josphat Nanok who was the Director-General of President Ruto’s presidential campaign in the run up to the 2022 General Election.
