Super Metro bus services has unveiled new buses that will ferry passengers through the Nairobi Central Business District (CBD) to the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) route.
In a statement, the bus service noted that the launch of the new route, expected soon, will happen as they introduce their newly acquired electric buses.

Further, Super Metro noted that it would offer free bus rides for passengers plying the new route.
“Soon we will be launching new electric buses and more of the seventh generation NQR series which will be operating from the CBD straight to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA).

“Free rides straight from the CBD to the airport (JKIA) loading soon,” the statement read in part.
Date of Launch
At the same time, the popular PSV company failed to disclose the exact dates when the launch will take place. It, however, stated that it would keep updating its customers on the specific date and time of the launch.

“We will keep you posted on the new route. We thank you all for your continued support and for believing in our brand,’ added the statement.

The move comes shortly after their September 27, announcement on the launch of the Kitengela CBD route.
The bus company announced at the time that the Kitengela bound vehicles would be using the southern bypass, instead of going through the Central Business District (CBD).
Additionally, those using Mombasa Roads were informed that the buses would ply the route through Ole-Sereni, JKIA, Syokimau, with Mlolongo as the last stop.
Super Metro First Electric Buses
In February 2023, Super Metro unveiled its first electric bus in efforts to support clean vehicles-clean environment in partnership with BasiGo.
The buses ply the Central Business District (CBD)- Kitengela and CBD-Kikuyu routes. At the time, the company stated that it had plans to supply more than 15 electric buses to transport saccos in Nairobi.
