Kenyatta University students on Monday morning, February 2 staged demonstrations interrupting traffic flow along the busy Thika Road, barely a week after the angry students took to the streets.
Motorists using the superhighway endured traffic snarl-up after the students blocked part of the road.
The reason as to why the students have blocked the road is yet to be established.
“Kenyatta University comrades matching to anniversary towers over delayed HELB Disbursement. Expect a massive traffic jam along Thika Road,” said Frank Knight on Facebook.

According to a student who spoke to The Kenya Times the President of the Student Council is leading a match to Anniversary Towers over delay by Helb to disburse funds.
Currently, security has been beefed up at Anniversary Towers as University of Nairobi (UON) students storm the building.

In a video seen by The Kenya Times, several UON students were allowed to enter the building, while others were left outside, trying to have a conversation with the police to gain entry.
Meanwhile, Egerton University students have issued a 12-hour ultimatum to HELB management regarding the delay in the disbursement of funds. They have warned that, if the issue is not resolved, they will travel to Nairobi to storm the Anniversary Towers offices.
“We urge the government, the Ministry of Education, you disburse the HELB funds to comrades. We are just giving you the ultimatum of 12 hours you do something. We are tired,” said an Egerton University student.
Kenya Power Restores Supply in KU After Protests
The Kenyatta University demonstrations come days after the students staged protests along the Thika Super Highway.
In the previous demonstrations, the students took to the streets due to prolonged power outages.
KU President Glen Karani stated that students staying at KM have been without electricity for a week and emphasized that the protests would continue until KPLC restores power.

However, KPLC restored power in Roysambu after the demonstration along the Thika Superhighway on Monday, January 27, 2205.
In a statement, Kenya Power said it successfully restored power supply to Kiwanja area on Tuesday morning.
“Our team has recovered a 315kVA transformer that had been temporarily installed in the area and replaced it with a 200kVA transformer that is appropriate to serve energy demand in the area,” KPLC said.
