The family of Raphael Tuju has reportedly denied detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) access to his residence, even as investigations into his reported disappearance intensify.
Authorities say the move has limited access to a key location that could help establish his whereabouts.
“While progress is being made, the DCI notes that an attempt by investigators to access Mr Tuju’s residence along Miwitu Drive was denied by the family,” the DCI statement read in part.
The DCI has urged full cooperation from all parties, emphasising the need for unrestricted access to relevant premises and the timely sharing of information to support a thorough and swift investigation.
Tuju Vehicle Found Abandoned in Karen
As per the details shared by the DCI, the investigation began after Tuju was reported missing by his family on Sunday, March 22, 2026.
His motor vehicle was later found abandoned along Mituoni Lane in the Karen area, with hazard lights still on.
A security guard from a nearby institution alerted authorities, prompting a response from officers based at Karen Police Station.
The scene was subsequently processed by crime scene investigators, and the vehicle was towed to the station for detailed forensic examination.
The authorities have not disclosed any immediate findings from the vehicle but confirmed that it remains a central piece of evidence in the case.
DCI Search Efforts and Ongoing Investigation
According to the DCI, efforts to reach Tuju have so far been unsuccessful, with investigators confirming that his mobile phone remains switched off.
Further, a specialized team has been deployed to lead the probe, working in coordination with other government agencies.
