The Communications Authority of Kenya (CA) has invited comments on the applications by 10 companies seeking broadcasting and telecommunication licences.
In a gazette notice on September 5, CA confirmed that the licences will enable the companies to provide a range of services, including free-to-air broadcasting, subscription services, and courier operations.
“Notice is given that the following applicants have, pursuant to the provisions of the Kenya Information and Communications Act, Cap. 411A, made applications to the Communications Authority of Kenya for the grant of the licences,” read part of the gazette notice.
Companies Seeking Broadcasting Licences from CA
According to the notice, six companies have applied for licenses in the broadcasting category. The six include:
- Champ Limited, which is seeking clearance to operate Katende Wasya Munene FM as a commercial free-to-air radio station.
- Cape Media Limited, seeking approval to operate TV 47 following a transfer from TV 47 Limited.
- Powerlife Television Limited, which is applying for a licence for Powerflow Television.
- Rhema Word Global Media Limited, seeking approval to operate Rhema Feast TV.
- Cable One Limited, applying for a renewal of its Cable One subscription broadcasting service.
- Christ’s Co-Worker Fellowship, that is applying for a renewal of its free-to-air channel, Revival TV.
Telecommunication and Postal Licences
In addition, four companies have applied for telecommunication and courier licences. The four include:
- Boma Net Limited is applying to be licensed as a Network Facilities Provider Tier Three (NFP-T3), which would give it the capacity to offer infrastructure services.
- Rollermax Courier Limited, based in Garissa, is seeking an international courier operator licence.
- Northways Services Sacco Limited, headquartered in Eldoret, and Ecart Services Kenya Limited, Nairobi, were both applying to be licensed as national courier operators.

Public Participation
The Communications Authority emphasised that the licences may affect the public, local authorities, and other organisations within the country.
As such, it invited individuals and entities wishing to make representations or objections regarding the approvals to submit their concerns.

“The Authority wishes to notify the general public that any legal or natural person, or group of individuals, who are desirous of making any representation and/or any objection to the said applications, to do so vide a letter addressed to the Director-General, Communications Authority of Kenya,” the Gazette Notice stated.
Such objections or comments must be submitted within 30 days of the date of publication, with a copy forwarded to the relevant applicant.
