Garissa County, located in northeastern Kenya, recorded 201,473 registered voters, according to figures from the 2022 general election.
The county, which spans approximately 44,175 square kilometres, comprises six constituencies that contribute to its political landscape and its representation in the National Assembly.
Garissa Township has the highest number of registered voters among the constituencies, with 53,253 voters.
Dadaab follows with 38,185 registered voters, while Ijara accounts for 29,666. The remaining constituencies include Fafi with 27,335 voters, Lagdera with 26,949, and Balambala with 26,085.

Dekow Barrow Mohamed represents Garissa Township, while Abdi Omar Shurie serves Balambala.
Abdikadir Hussein Mohamed, on the other hand, is the MP for Lagdera.
Mohamed Dahir Duale represents Dadaab, Abdikhaim Osman Mohamed serves Fafi, and Abdi Ali Abdi represents Ijara.
Garissa County is predominantly inhabited by the Somali ethnic community and has a largely Muslim population.
Its capital, Garissa town, serves as the administrative and economic hub of the region.
