Kitui County had registered a total of 532,758 voters spread across its eight constituencies, according to the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).
The county, which comprises eight constituencies, had shown a balanced distribution of registered voters, with each constituency contributing to the overall figure.
Kitui Central leads with the highest number of registered voters at 77,764, followed closely by Kitui South with 75,372.
Mwingi Central stood at 74,231 registered voters, while Kitui East had 65,377. Mwingi North and Kitui West recorded 68,829 and 59,047 voters, respectively.
Kitui Rural followed with 55,000, and Mwingi West rounded out the list with 57,138 registered voters.
MPs per Constituency
The county’s political landscape remains largely under the influence of the Wiper Democratic Movement (WDM), which holds six of the eight parliamentary seats.

Paul Musyimi Nzengu (Mwingi North), Charles Ngusya Nguna (Mwingi West), Gideon Mutemi Mulyungi (Mwingi Central), Edith Vethi Nyenze (Kitui West), David Mwalika Mboni (Kitui Rural), and Makali Benson Mulu (Kitui Central) are all affiliated with WDM.
The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) and Jubilee Party have each secured one parliamentary seat.
Nimrod Mbithuka Mbai represents Kitui East under the UDA ticket, while Rachel Kaki Nyamai holds the Kitui South seat for the Jubilee Party.
As the 2025 elections draw nearer, voter engagement and turnout in Kitui will be critical in shaping the political direction of both the county and the broader Eastern region.
