Former President Uhuru Kenyatta on Thursday, October 27, spoke on a live radio show to reveal plans and wishes for his birthday.
In a phone interview conducted by celebrated Kikuyu Journalist Muthoni wa Kirumba on Kameme FM, the former President prayed for long life and good health.
In his usual jovial mood, the Uhuru received the call with gratitude noting that he was grateful to God and for the birthday wishes.
Moreover, the presenter joked about her plans to deliver gifts to Uhuru including home baking flour to prepare Kenya’s revered chapati meal.
After moments of laughter, the former President spoke about his expectations on his birthday.
Among the wishes he listed was a request for peace in the country, noting it was crucial for the nation as it approaches the 60 year-mark since independence.

“I thank you very much for remembering me this morning,” Uhuru said in the phone interview.
However, the former President declined to disclose his age despite information in the public domain that he was born in 1961.
“Stop asking about my age, I am glad about the years that God has given me, we are also praying for the country to last for many more years and with peace,” he added.
When asked to make a song request, Uhuru initially declined to choose before settling for “I got you baby” by UB40.
This was the first time the President spoke in public since his appearance at one of his son’s homes whose home was raided by detectives. ‘
However, the retired President did not disclose his whereabouts.

Gatundu South Residents Cut Cake to Mark Uhuru Kenyatta’s birthday
Elsewhere in Gatundu South, tens of residents gathered to mark their former Member of Parliament’s birthday in style.
In an event marked with pom and color, traders in Gatundu danced and shared a cake to celebrate the day.
Similarly, an an apparent political statement, the traders passionately sang a vernacular song stating, “things have not been the same since you left”.
Birthday wishes for the former President started streaming in from Kenyans on social media.
Beyond political affiliations, the former President was widely revered for his outgoing and jovial mood.
