A UK-based energy company, ScottishPower, has announced fully funded scholarships for international students, including Kenyans, offering a monthly stipend of up to KSh 206,000.
The ScottishPower Master Scholarship 2026-2027 targets postgraduate students to pursue courses in engineering, technology, and energy-related fields in the United Kingdom.
The Scholarship is aimed at nurturing highly motivated individuals who want to help transform the global energy landscape.
It focuses on key future-oriented sectors such as renewable energy, engineering innovation, artificial intelligence, and digital infrastructure.

However, applicants may also apply to any UK university, provided that the course
objectives matches the specified knowledge areas.
Applicant Requirements
Applicants must be in possession of, or expect to receive, a Bachelor’s with Honours at a minimum 2:1 (or equivalent) or a Master’s degree from a recognized university on submission of the application.
If the applicant is still in the final year of the 2025-2026 academic course, the grant will be contingent upon the applicant securing the university degree at the specified level at the end of the academic cycle in June/July 2026.
Applicants must follow the usual application procedure for the UK University they wish to attend. Applications from students who have not submitted an application will be rejected during the selection process.
Applicants may not be in receipt of any scholarship, financial aid, or other award of a similar nature from institutions and public or private foundations during the period that the scholarship is awarded for.

Documentation and How to Apply
To be eligible for the Scholarship, the interested party must complete the electronic application form1 before midnight (UK time) on 29th March 2026.
After the application form has been submitted, the applicant will receive an acknowledgement email.
Once the application has been submitted, changes are still possible until the deadline of midnight on 29th March 2026.
The scholarship is open to all nationalities (global applicants), including Africa, Asia, Europe, North America, South America, and Oceania
Monthly Allowance and Enrolment Costs
The scholarship will cover the enrolment costs at the university in the United Kingdom.
It will also provide £14,400 (Ksh 2.5 million) per year to cover per diem and material expenses. This amount will be paid out in £1,200 (Ksh 206,000) monthly instalments.
The Scholarship will have a maximum duration of one calendar year from the beginning of the studies programme.
ScottishPower will also provide local support to the scholarship recipients where appropriate.
The amount of the Scholarship will be paid in the currency of the country of origin i.e., UK Students in GBP.
All payments will be subject to UK income tax.
Selection Process
The selection process will commence with online testing. Following this stage, candidates may be further shortlisted, considering academic qualifications, their applications, and the knowledge area of the proposed studies.
Shortlisted applicants will be invited to an in-person Assessment Centre as the final stage of the selection process.
Applicants will be invited to complete an online interview and some online game assessments.
They can expect to receive an email inviting them to participate in online testing
between 5th March and 25th April 2025
Shortlisted applicants will be invited to an in-person Assessment Centre at our offices in Glasgow, Scotland, or Hoylake, England, in May 2026.
All applicants will receive an update on the outcome of their application by 4th June 2026.
Once the final interviews have been conducted, the selection committee will propose the list of selected candidates.
