Kenya Meteorological Department (KMD) has released a seven-day forecast detailing different areas in the country that are expected to have nighttime temperatures dropping below 10°C between July 2, and July 8. In the weather forecast, Kenya Met focused on temperatures, rainfall, cold and cloudy conditions and strong winds.
The weatherman stated that some parts of the Central Highlands, Western Kenya, the South-eastern lowlands, and the Rift Valley, will experience intermittent cold and cloudy weather.
Further, these areas are likely to have overcast skies with intermittent periods of sunshine breaking through the clouds.
Besides, as the sun sets, night-time temperatures are expected to drop significantly. In specific areas of the Central Highlands and the Rift Valley, temperatures could fall below 10°C, making for chilly nights.

In addition, some parts of Coast, North-eastern, and North-western Kenya are in for a different experience with high daytime temperatures on the horizon.
Kenya Met Issues Forecast
Daytime temperatures are forecasted to soar above 30°C in these areas, bringing sunny and hot conditions.

Subsequently, rainfall is anticipated in parts of the Central Highlands, Western Kenya, the Lake Victoria Basin, the Rift Valley, and the Coast.
These regions may experience some showers, while the rest of the country is predicted to remain generally dry.
Furthermore, some parts of the country may encounter strong winds blowing in from the south to the south-east.
KMD said these winds are expected to reach speeds exceeding 25 knots (12.9 m/s), potentially affecting certain parts of the Coast, the South-eastern lowlands, North-eastern and North-western Kenya.
Earlier Predictions
In the forecasts for June 18 to June 24, the Kenya Met highlighted varied weather patterns across different regions of the country.
Rainfall was anticipated in the Central Highlands, Western Kenya, the Victoria Basin, the Rift Valley, and the Coast, while the rest part of the country was likely to remain dry.

Likewise, other areas within the Central Highlands and the Lake Victoria Basin, such as Kiambu, Murang’a, Nyeri, Nyandarua, Kirinyaga, Embu, Tharaka Nithi, Meru, Laikipia, Kisii, Nyamira, Siaya, Migori, Kisumu, and Homa Bay, were to experience rainfall.
Additionally, in the Western Region, which includes Kakamega, Vihiga, Bungoma, and Busia, and the Rift Valley region covering Narok, Kericho, Nandi, Baringo, Nakuru, Trans-Nzoia, Uasin-Gishu, Elgeyo-Marakwet, and West Pokot Counties, dry conditions were expected.
