US President Donald Trump has demanded that pharmaceutical companies, including Pfizer, release detailed data on the effectiveness of their COVID-19 drugs and vaccines.
Trump, while speaking on his platform Truth Social on Monday, September 1, said he has seen “extraordinary” results that were privately shared with him but questioned why the information has not been made public or submitted to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
He stated that there is disagreement on whether the drugs saved lives, with many people believing they are a “miracle that saved millions of lives,” while others disagree.
“With CDC being ripped apart over this question, I want the answer, and I want it now. I have been shown information from Pfizer, and others, that is extraordinary, but they never seem to show those results to the public,” he said.
Trump Orders Drug Companies to Justify COVID-19 Success, Release Data to Public
Trump expressed frustration over the lack of public disclosure, saying that while he has been shown impressive data, the general public and health authorities have not had access to the same information.

He criticized the ongoing debate among experts and public figures, including Bobby Kennedy Jr., over the success or failure of COVID-19 treatments and vaccines.
“They go off to the next ‘hunt’ and let everyone rip themselves apart, including Bobby Kennedy Jr. and CDC, trying to figure out the success or failure of the Drug Companies’ COVID work,” he added.
“They show me great numbers and results, but they don’t seem to be showing them to many others. I want them to show them now to the CDC and the public and clear up this mess.”
He called for immediate transparency to clear doubts over whether Operation Warp Speed, the government initiative that fast-tracked vaccine development, was truly as “brilliant” as many claim.
“I hope Operation Warp Speed was as ‘brilliant’ as many say it was. If not, we all want to know about it, and why,” he wrote.

CDC Director Fired
This comes after the White House removed Susan Monarez as director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on Wednesday, following her refusal to resign amid pressure to change vaccine policy.
Her dismissal sparked the resignation of other senior CDC officials and a broader showdown over whether she could be removed from her position.
Hours after the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) announced early Wednesday evening that Monarez was no longer director, her lawyers issued a fiery statement, saying she had neither resigned nor been properly fired. They accused HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. of “weaponizing public health for political gain” and “putting millions of American lives at risk” by purging health officials from the government.
“When CDC Director Susan Monarez refused to rubber-stamp unscientific, reckless directives and fire dedicated health experts, she chose protecting the public over serving a political agenda,” the lawyers, Mark S. Zaid and Abbe Lowell, wrote in a statement. “For that reason, she has been targeted.”
