President Donald Trump’s last on-camera appearance came during a four-hour cabinet meeting on August 26, 2025.
By Friday afternoon, White House reporters said they had not seen him at all, with the press pool noting that there was no access to the president as of 5:17 p.m. His public schedule for Aug. 30 and 31 shows no events.
A White House pool reporter also said Trump had not been seen entering or leaving the Oval Office during Friday’s coverage window.
The last time journalists recorded his activity was Aug. 25, when he signed several executive orders and spoke with reporters in the Oval Office.
Trump’s most recent communication came on his Truth Social account at around 7 p.m. Friday, in a post about court disputes over tariffs.
Speculation and Viral Rumors Online About Trump
The phrase “Trump is dead” trended on X on Friday and Saturday, generating thousands of posts and memes.
Other tags, including #WhereIsTrump and #TrumpDied, appeared among the platform’s most-discussed topics.
Many posts cited the president’s lack of public events this weekend as the reason for concern. Others pointed to the absence of new photos or video since Tuesday.
Some users dismissed the speculation, saying the president could be on personal time. Others treated the trend as a meme, sharing fabricated images of a supposed “Simpsons” episode predicting Trump’s death.
The activity spilled onto Threads and TikTok, where users repeated the claims or criticized them as baseless.

Health Concerns and Visible Signs
Recent photographs of Trump showed swelling in his ankles and discoloration on his hands. Images from Aug. 25, when he met South Korean President Lee Jae-myung at the White House, displayed a bruise on the back of his right hand.
In July, the White House said Trump had been diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency, a vein condition that can cause swelling and skin changes.
Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt previously addressed questions about the marks on his hands, saying they were related to that diagnosis.
Observers online also noted differences in the language of his Truth Social posts.
Political commentator David Pakman pointed out that some recent entries contained punctuation and phrasing he said were uncharacteristic of Trump’s style.

Official Responses and Political Fallout
Vice President J.D. Vance told USA Today on Wednesday that Trump “is in incredibly good health. He’s got incredible energy.” If “a terrible tragedy” were to occur, his own experience over the last 200 days would serve as preparation, he added.
Attention was drawn online by the remarks, where excerpts circulated widely. The White House has not commented on the president’s absence since Friday or addressed the trending claims directly.
Social media supporters suggested Trump could be spending the holiday weekend at Mar-a-Lago. Others questioned why no Labor Day event appeared on his schedule after the administration promoted one earlier in August.
