Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has revealed that Russian troops launched more than 3,100 drones, around 1,360 glide bombs, and 92 missiles of various types on Ukraine in the past week.
In a statement on Sunday, October 12, Zelenskyy said that throughout the week, many regions of Ukraine had come under fire, and air raid sirens were sounding again in several areas due to the threat of drone attacks.
Zelenskyy stated that Russia has continued its aerial terror against Ukrainian cities and communities, intensifying strikes on the country’s energy infrastructure.

He added that the immorality of these crimes is evident, as Russians continue to kill Ukrainian people every day.
“Yesterday in Kostiantynivka, a child was killed in a church by an aerial bomb. In total, just this week alone, more than 3,100 drones, 92 missiles, and around 1,360 glide bombs have been used against Ukraine,” he said.
“Wherever needed, our services continue working on recovery from the strikes, carry out repairs, and help all our people. It is important that local leaders ensure proper support for those affected.”
Zelenskyy further urged the international community not to ease pressure on Russia, warning that Moscow is exploiting global attention on the Middle East to intensify its attacks on Ukraine.

The Kyiv leader said Moscow “allows itself to escalate its strikes, openly exploiting the fact that the world is focused on ensuring peace in the Middle East.”
He emphasized that sanctions, tariffs, and joint actions against the buyers of Russian oil – those who finance this war – must all remain on the table.
“It is exactly this approach that can open the path to lasting peace for Europe. The world can guarantee this in parallel with the peace process in the Middle East,” he said.
“No weakening of pressure can be allowed,” Zelenskyy said, adding that maintaining strong measures against Russia could pave the way for lasting peace in Europe.
He further noted that the world can guarantee peace in Europe alongside efforts to restore stability in the Middle East.
Russia-Ukraine Attack Intensifies
This comes as Russia carried out several large-scale missile and drone strikes on Ukraine’s energy and gas facilities this week, in a renewed effort to disrupt the country’s power grid ahead of winter.
An overnight attack on October 10 caused widespread power outages across multiple regions, with civilian infrastructure also hit.
The strikes resulted in casualties in Kyiv as well as in the eastern regions of Zaporizhzhia and Dnipropetrovsk.

Earlier in the week, Zelenskyy warned that Russian citizens would face blackouts if Moscow continued its campaign to cripple Ukraine’s energy system.
A Ukrainian strike had already damaged energy facilities in the Russian city of Belgorod on October 5, leaving nearly 40,000 residents without electricity.
Ukraine has also intensified its attacks on Russian oil refineries, targeting at least 16 of Russia’s 38 facilities since August 2025, according to the Financial Times.
