Byram Ongaya is a Principal Judge of the Employment and Labour Relations Court (ELRC).
He served as the founding head of the Legal Services Department at the Public Service Commission of Kenya (PSC) in 2004 and as Director of Legal Services at the Interim Independent Boundaries Review Commission (IIBRC) in 2010.
Academic and Professional Qualifications
Ongaya holds a 2008 Master of Laws from the University of Nairobi.
In 1998, he earned a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Nairobi and pursued a Postgraduate Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law in 1999.

He was admitted to the Roll of Advocates in 2000.
Byran Ongaya’s Work Experience
Since 2022 to date, Ongaya has served as a Principal Judge at the Employment and Labour Relations Court of Kenya.
From 2012 to date, he has been serving as a Judge at the Employment and Labour Relations Court of Kenya.
In 2010, he was the Head of Legal at the Interim Independent Boundaries Review Commission.
Between 2004 and 2012, he was the Head of Legal Services at the Public Service Commission.
