As probe into the Bomas fracas commence, police officers have acquired the CCTV footage of the building.
The investigation was launched after IEBC officers were injured in the chaos witnessed at the national tallying center, on Monday, August 15 just before the announcement of presidential results.
Moreover, IEBC Chairman Wafula Chebukati who was targeted in the violence had to be whisked away by security personnel after unidentified men stormed the podium in an attempt to stop him from announcing the results.
Nonetheless, order was restored after police safeguarded the stage and drove out the rowdy protesters.
Additionally, the National Police Service issued a statement saying they had commenced probe into the unfortunate incident.
“On the second incident which involved fracas at the IEBC National Tallying Centre-Bomas, police are seized of the matter and pursuing investigation. CCTV files have been collected and forwarded for further forensic analysis to aid investigation,” NPS stated.
Furthermore, the police noted that they have also launched probe into the the murder of 53-year-old Embakasi East IEBC Returning Officer Daniel Musyoka.

Musyoka’s tortured body was found dumped in Oloitoktok, Kajiado County by herders.
“DCI homicide detectives investigating the murder witnessed a post-mortem today and samples have been taken for further forensic analysis,” police said.
Likewise, the police service has appealed to members of the public to volunteer in confidence information that will help in investigations of the two incidences.
