Former Chelsea legend and Real Madrid player, Eden Hazard, on Tuesday, October 10 announced his retirement from professional football.
The announcement marked the end of an era for the 32-year-old soccer legend.
“After 16 years and more than 700 matches played, I have decided to end my career as a professional footballer,” he announced.

However, his unexpected move to Real Madrid in 2019 to replace Cristiano Ronaldo hurt the Blues fans’ hearts and caused enormous expectations as he was to fill in the shoes of a star and club legend.
Sadly, his Real Madrid stint didn’t shine as his Chelsea days did, with just four goals in 54 appearances.
“I was able to realize my dream, I have played and had fun on many pitches around the world, thank you to everyone for these great times, I will miss you all,” he went on to add in his retirement statement.
