Pastor Kanyari’s children, Sky Victor and the brother, Danny, have spoken out following a court ruling on the custody of her and her younger brother, expressing disappointment with the decision and explaining why they want to remain with the man she considers their father figure.
In an emotional late-night livestream, Sky said she had been unable to sleep after learning the outcome of the case, which she said had been ongoing since their mother’s death nearly a year ago.
“I’ve tried to sleep, but today has been a very bad day for me. Compared to the day my mom passed away, this is like the second worst day ever,” Sky said.
The teenager said the prolonged court proceedings had made it difficult for her and her brother to mourn their mother in peace, adding that the dispute had affected their emotional well-being and daily lives.
She also said she struggled to concentrate on school because she was anticipating the final judgment, which had initially been scheduled for the previous Friday before being postponed.
Why Kanyari’s Daughter Disagrees With the Custody Decision
Sky expressed dissatisfaction with the ruling, saying she and her brother had hoped to continue living with the man who has been part of their lives for years.
She maintained that her disagreement with the decision did not mean she disrespected or hated her biological father, whom she acknowledged as her parent.
“I respect my biological father. I really do,” she said. “You’ll never find even one clip of me disrespecting him. But I’m not comfortable with that final judgment,” she said.
According to Sky, the man she calls her dad entered their lives when she was about eight years old and has remained a consistent presence in their upbringing.
She argued that the children should have their wishes considered when deciding where they will live, given the environment they have known for years.
Sky Explains Why She Wants to Stay With Her Father Figure
Sky said she wanted to remain in the home where she had lived with her mother and the man she considers her dad, explaining that it was the environment she had grown accustomed to.
“I would love to stay in the place I was left by my mom. That’s where I want to stay”
She also recalled financial difficulties the family experienced during the COVID-19 pandemic, saying they sometimes struggled to afford basic needs.
Sky shared a childhood memory in which she said she asked her biological father for a birthday cake when she turned eight. According to her account, he told her to sell her old shoes and clothes to raise money for it.
She contrasted those experiences with the support she said she later received from her stepfather, whom she credited with helping the family during difficult times.
Kanyari’s Daughter Makes Plea for Her Younger Brother
Beyond her own concerns, Kanyari’s daughter said she was worried about how the custody decision would affect her younger brother and his upbringing.
She alleged that a previous stay at her biological father’s home had been difficult, claiming that their phones, clothes and other belongings were taken away and that they were locked inside the house.

The allegations were made during her livestream and were not independently verified in her account.
“I’m not only considering me,” she said. “I’m considering my brother because I just want to see where the best place is for him to grow up.”
Sky also criticised online commentary about her family, saying some people had judged their situation without understanding what they had experienced following their mother’s death.
She appealed to the public to consider their circumstances before commenting on the dispute, noting that the ongoing case had affected her school life, social activities and ability to enjoy her teenage years.
The teenager maintained that she wanted her and her brother’s wishes to be heard as the custody dispute continued to affect their lives.
