Kiambu Woman Representative Ann WaMuratha has vehemently dismissed claims circulating on social media alleging that she has separated from her husband, Reverend Aaron Mugo.
In a statement dated Saturday, May 6, 2025, Ann dismissed the claims as false and malicious.
“I learnt in marriage, you amplify the strengths of your partner, and lower the weaknesses to live with that person. There is no way I can amplify my husband’s weaknesses, and that is a decision I took. I have been amplifying his strengths, which is why we have continued to be. My struggle before God is to keep this family,” read part of her statement.
Ann WaMuratha Dismisses Divorce Rumours
Additionally, the Kiambu Woman Representative alleged that she knows the person who started the divorce rumors between her and her husband. She further accused the individual of having a bad reputation for destroying people’s reputations.
“There is a picture that was taken of me on the day we attended the National Prayer Breakfast. The person who took the photo is known for humiliating others — and this is not the first time.
Although I won’t mention names, I pray that even if the government does not hold him accountable, may God deal with him. He started rumours about my husband and me divorcing, and those lies spread like wildfire on social media,” said WaMuratha.

At the same time, the Kiambu Woman Representative seemed to call for the regulation of social media, accusing it of tarnishing her family’s reputation.
“We need to have a national conversation and ask ourselves: How long will we stay silent while social media continues to harm people? Not everyone has the strength that my family and I have. What if he targets a family that is emotionally vulnerable or already struggling? I am a firm believer in marriage, and I deeply respect my husband,” she added.
