Kenya Defense Forces (KDF) officers commenced a special training exercise named the Justified Accord 24 (JA24) on Monday, February 26, at the Counter Insurgency, Terrorism, and Stability Operations Center (CITSO) in Nanyuki, Laikipia County.
Organized by the Kenya Defense Forces, this military exercise brings together participants from various nations to enhance their readiness, foster cooperation, and prepare regional partners for regional and international missions.
Led by the U.S. Army, over 800 personnel are taking part in this multinational exercise.
Period of the Training
The ongoing military training will last for two weeks running from February 26, 2024 to March 7,2024. Throughout the exercise, trainers are supposed to delve into practical war tactics and maneuverability skills.

They will also undergo rigorous training in vital areas such as Room Clearance Procedures, Counter-IED Measures, and Medical Evacuation Procedures.
This comprehensive approach aims to equip participants with the essential skills required to maintain peace and security in the region.
Countries Participating in the KDF Training
Djibouti, Tanzania, Rwanda, Somalia, and the United States are also among the participants in the multinational field training.
During this period, participating countries will work hand in hand, pooling their expertise to bolster their readiness and effectiveness in the face of evolving security challenges.
Since 2017, the Justified Accord has been alternating annually as a field-training exercise.

On February 13, 2023, the Kenya Defense Forces troops and other allied states also participated in the Justified Accord 2023 (JA23) held at the Infantry school in Isiolo.

The training aimed to improve the troops’ multinational interoperability and reinforce positive bilateral and regional relationships in a conflict environment.
In the two weeks training, U.S Army Field Artillery member, General Wasmund noted that security threats in the United States kept mutating and, as such, recommended continuous training and integration for the protection and defense of the people.
“A problem for one is a problem for all in the region and so the reason to come in unison, train together to defeat a common enemy and future crisis,” he said.
